Bing & Grøndahl Skye Terrier dog figurine no. 2137 11 cm

Bing & Grøndahl dog figurine no. 2137 depicts a standing Skye Terrier with the long, low body and the characteristic fall of fur that makes the breed easy to recognize. The figurine has a calm and attentive expression, with the head slightly raised, while the soft lines in the fur give the porcelain life and movement. It is a classic dog figurine that appeals both to collectors of Bing & Grøndahl and to dog lovers with an eye for old porcelain figurines.

The light glaze and the fine underglaze technique emphasize the figurine's calm appearance. In the pictures, you can see the modeled details in the fur along the chest, legs, and body, the hanging ears, and the small defined eyes that give the figurine personality without seeming overdone. Precisely this simple, lifelike form is a large part of the charm of older Bing & Grøndahl animal figurines, which are created with a sense for both breed characteristics and decorative unity.

As a porcelain figurine, this Skye Terrier fits beautifully in a bookcase, on a display cabinet, a desk, or together with other animal figurines in a collection. It is also an obvious gift idea for a dog lover or for the collector who is fond of Danish porcelain with history. Older figurines like this bring soul into the interior and are at the same time a sustainable choice, because fine craftsmanship is allowed to live on and create joy in new homes.

This figurine is a fine example of how Bing & Grøndahl combined decorative porcelain art with motifs from the animal kingdom. A dog figurine like this works both as a small collector's item and as a personal detail in the home, where it adds warmth, nostalgia, and classic Danish porcelain style.
