Chaffinch figurine no. 2322 from Bing & Grøndahl by Svend Jespersen

This chaffinch figurine from Bing & Grøndahl is a classic bird figurine in porcelain, which combines nature study and Danish design tradition in a very vivid way. The bird is modelled with an upright posture and a slightly open beak, which gives the figurine an alert and characteristic expression. The subdued shades of brown, grey-brown, black and white underline the motif's natural calm and make it easy to place in both modern and more traditional homes.

Svend Jespersen has created a porcelain figurine in which the chaffinch's distinctive features are rendered with confident lines and fine details. On the wings, the distinctive light fields can be seen, and the tail is elegantly drawn out behind the body, so that the figurine has a beautiful, harmonious silhouette from all angles. The light base highlights the bird and at the same time gives a calm overall impression, which suits both the display cabinet, the bookshelf and the desk.

For collectors of Bing & Grøndahl figurines and Danish bird figurines, model no. 2322 is an obvious choice. It contains both the true-to-life narrative and the special charm that older porcelain figurines have when they are created with an eye for form, play of colours and durable quality. It is precisely the type of decorative art and collectible porcelain that still brings joy in everyday life and adds personality to the home with history and soul.

A bird figurine like this is also an obvious gift idea for someone who is fond of Danish porcelain, Nordic interior design or nature motifs. It works well on its own as a small eye-catcher, but can also be combined with other porcelain figurines, animal figurines or birds from the same style direction to create a personal collection.
