Bing & Grøndahl Birgitte seated girl with cat figurine no. 479 or 2329

Birgitte is an evocative Bing & Grøndahl figurine that captures a quiet and everyday moment between child and cat. The seated girl is modelled with a bowed head and calm posture, while the little cat moves across her lap toward a small ball. The motif has a lovely story of play, presence, and the child's natural companionship with animals, and precisely for that reason it is a porcelain figurine that many are especially fond of.

The figurine is designed by Vita Thymann and made in porcelain with underglaze. The soft shapes and the calm colours give the figurine a classic expression, which suits both the traditional collection and the modern interior. The girl's blue top with collar and bow detail stands beautifully with the light dress, while the cat and the discreet grey shades bring the composition together in a harmonious way. The seated position and the downward gaze give the figurine a thoughtful and lifelike expression.

As a children's figurine from Bing & Grøndahl, Birgitte has both decorative value and collector interest. The motif of girl and cat makes it ideal for you who collect B&G figurines, children's figurines, or porcelain figurines with animals. It is also well suited as a gift idea for a cat lover or for someone who appreciates Danish porcelain design with warmth and personality.

Older porcelain figurines like this one have a special charm because they are created to be preserved and appreciated for many years. They bring history, craftsmanship, and soul into the home and are at the same time a beautiful choice for you who would like to decorate with things that have already proven their durability. Birgitte is a figurine that can easily find a place on a shelf, in a display cabinet, or as part of a larger collection of classic Bing & Grøndahl figurines.
