Bing & Grøndahl boy with flowers figurine no. 2346

This porcelain figurine from Bing & Grøndahl shows a kneeling boy with flowers in his hands, modeled with a calm and thoughtful expression. The figurine is rendered in soft lines and with a fine balance between movement and stillness, where the slightly bent posture and the downward gaze give the motif a quiet narrative. The blue clothing stands beautifully against the light areas and emphasizes the classic expression that many collectors associate with Bing & Grøndahl's figurines.

The design is executed by Vita Thymann, and here one senses her confident ability to depict children with presence and simple poetry. The boy holds a small bouquet close to his body, while the other hand carries a single flower. This gives the figurine a human and warm character, which makes it suitable both as a collector's figurine and as a decorative porcelain figurine in the home.

Bing & Grøndahl figurines are known for their strong craft tradition, and this model no. 2346 is a good example of precisely that. It is made of porcelain with underglaze, which gives the surface depth, gloss, and a durable color effect. The motif fits beautifully into a collection of children's figurines, but can also stand alone on a shelf, in a display cabinet, or as a personal gift for someone who is fond of classic Danish porcelain and figurines with atmosphere.

Older porcelain figurines like this one have a special ability to add character and history to the home. They are created to last a long time and can find new life in modern interiors, where they contribute soul, cultural history, and a more sustainable choice than new production. A figurine like this appeals both to the collector and to the person who wants a smaller, yet expressive piece of Danish design with history.
