Porcelain figurine fisherman with net and fish no. 10020 GDR

This porcelain figurine of a fisherman captures a calm moment from coastal life and fishing. The figurine shows a standing fisherman with a wide-brimmed hat, jacket, scarf and high boots, while he holds a fish in his hand and lets the net fall heavily down along his side. The motif has a narrative quality, where the work, everyday life and closeness to the sea stand out clearly.

It is a classic fisherman figurine and occupational figurine with many fine details in both clothing and posture. The structure of the net is beautifully highlighted, and the subdued shades of grey, green, brown and light tones give the figurine a calm and harmonious expression. The glossy glaze supports the figurine's form and makes it suitable as a decorative feature in the home, whether it is placed alone or together with other porcelain figurines with rural life, craftsmanship or maritime motifs.

As a porcelain figurine, it also appeals to collectors who are fond of vintage figurines with character and a world of motifs. A figurine like this adds personality and history to the décor and is at the same time a beautiful example of how older quality objects can still create joy in a modern home. Choosing a figurine with age and soul is also a sustainable way to decorate with things that have already been created to last.

The fisherman figurine fits well on a shelf, in a display cabinet or as part of a collection of maritime figurines, farmer figurines and other occupational figurines. It can also be an obvious gift for a collector or for a person with an interest in fishing, coastal culture and classic porcelain.
