Royal Copenhagen lynx figurine no. 20242 in stoneware by Knud Kyhn

Royal Copenhagen figurine no. 20242 depicts a seated lynx with a calm, attentive expression and an upright, composed posture. The figurine has the characteristic feline form that makes it decorative from every angle, and the pronounced ears and stylized face give it a lively and distinctive character. It is an animal figurine that speaks directly to collectors of Danish design, stoneware figurines, and classic cat figurines from Royal Copenhagen.

The glaze plays beautifully across the surface with light shades combined with dark, flowing markings in brown tones. This gives the figurine depth and variation, making it appear both natural and artistic in its expression. The seated position emphasizes the calm and strength of the motif, while the simple lines make the figurine easy to place in both modern and more classic homes.

Knud Kyhn is known for his animal motifs, and here one clearly senses the feel for form and character. The figurine works well on its own on a shelf, in a display cabinet, or as part of a collection with other animal figurines in porcelain and stoneware. For many, this particular type of older Royal Copenhagen figurine is also an obvious gift idea for collectors or for someone who appreciates Danish decorative art with history and personality.

A figurine like this carries the quality and durability that make older design worth preserving and continuing to use. When choosing vintage and classic stoneware, you get not just a decorative object, but also a piece of design with soul, which still fits naturally into today's interior.
