Royal Copenhagen Bear Cub no. 21435 - sun glaze by Knud Kyhn

Royal Copenhagen bear cub no. 21435 is a characterful stoneware figurine by Knud Kyhn, executed in the vibrant sun glaze, which suits his animal motifs so well. The figurine shows a seated bear cub with its head slightly bent forward, small ears, defined paws, and a thoughtful, almost shy expression. This gives the figurine a calm and present atmosphere, which makes it easy to become fond of and exciting to look at from several angles.

The glaze plays beautifully across the surface in shades of brown, golden, olive green, and light cream-colored areas. The soft transitions in the glaze highlight the figurine's rounded shapes and give the bear cub depth and warmth. Knud Kyhn is known for his animal figurines, where form and glaze work closely together, and precisely here it creates an expression that feels both powerful and quiet at the same time.

As a vintage stoneware figurine, this bear cub has the special charm that older Danish design often contains. It is a piece of decorative art with history, created to last and to continue to be part of a modern home. The figurine fits nicely on a shelf, in a display cabinet, on the desk, or as part of a collection of Royal Copenhagen figurines and other animal figurines in stoneware. It is also an obvious gift for collectors, for those who appreciate Knud Kyhn's work, or for anyone who appreciates Danish design with personality and soul.

This Royal Copenhagen figurine combines collector's value, craftsmanship, and a motif that feels both warm and timeless. A bear figurine that adds calm, character, and a small piece of Danish design history to the home.
