Bing & Grøndahl lamb figurine no. 2171 - Svend Jespersen

This Bing & Grøndahl figurine of a lamb has a calm and natural expression, which makes it a charming feature in both classic and modern homes. The small porcelain figurine is modelled standing with a slightly turned head, upright ears and a finely defined fleece that gives the surface life and depth. The soft blue-grey shades in the underglaze emphasise the calm, Nordic expression that many collectors and interior enthusiasts appreciate in older Danish porcelain.

The figurine is designed by Svend Jespersen, who is known for his animal figurines with a sure eye for proportions and movement. Here the lamb is rendered simply and convincingly, with a form that balances the naturalistic and the stylised in a way that suits Bing & Grøndahl's porcelain figurines particularly well. The glossy glaze and the finely modelled wool add character to the figurine without making the expression heavy.

A porcelain lamb like this is ideal for collectors of Bing & Grøndahl figurines, animal figurines in porcelain and Danish design with history. At the same time, it is a decorative figurine that can easily be placed on a shelf, in a display cabinet or as part of a still life with other animals, ceramics or decorative arts in light tones. Vintage porcelain figurines like this bring personality into the interior and are a beautiful choice for those who appreciate craftsmanship and would like to give quality items new life.

It is also a lovely gift idea for someone who collects lambs, sheep, Bing & Grøndahl or small porcelain figurines with a poetic and rural motif.
