Royal Copenhagen and Bing & Grondahl figurines of pigs

Royal Copenhagen figurines of pigs and Bing & Grondahl figurines of pigs are rare. Especially more specific figurines such as Bing & Grondahl sow with piglets and Royal Copenhagen figurine of boar and sow is very hard to find.

One of the more common figurines of a pig is a sitting pig from Bing & Grondahl - or Royal Copenhagen as RC took over the production in 1987 when Royal Copenhagen and B&G were merged - and therefore the pig has been marked with both Royal Copenhagen and Bing & Grondahl stamp.

The symbolic meaning of pigs

The round shapes of the pig symbolises fertility, pregnancy, wealth and abundance. Often the pig has been used as a symbol of good luck.
