Royal Copenhagen Saint Bernard dog figurine no. 744 H 6 cm

Royal Copenhagen Saint Bernard dog figurine no. 744 is a charming dog figurine in porcelain that combines a lifelike sense of form with a vivid and narrative motif. The figurine shows a small Saint Bernard puppy with its tail raised and a dark slipper in its mouth, which gives the expression both movement and personality. The soft transitions in the light brown, white and darker brown painting emphasize the figurine's gentle and recognizable canine expression.

The motif is designed by Allan Therkelsen for Royal Copenhagen and belongs to the factory's series of mini dogs. According to the available product information, this figurine is one of a total of 12 puppies in the series, which makes it particularly interesting for collectors of Royal Copenhagen animal figurines and dog figurines in porcelain. The underglaze decoration also provides the glossy, durable surface that suits Royal Copenhagen's classic figurine universe so well.

It is a porcelain figurine that can both stand alone in a small display and be included together with other animal figurines, mini figurines or classic Danish porcelain. The modest size makes it easy to place on a shelf, a display cabinet shelf or on a desk, where it adds a warm and personal touch to the home. For the dog lover, it is also an obvious gift idea, because it combines breed recognition, humor and good Danish design in one overall expression.

This Royal Copenhagen figurine especially appeals to collectors who are looking for an original Saint Bernard dog in porcelain, an Allan Therkelsen figurine or a model from the series with the 12 puppies. The narrative motif with the shoe in its mouth is precisely what makes figurine no. 744 easy to recognize and gives it a special presence among other dog figurines.
