Royal Copenhagen Jens sleeping figurine no. 681 - boy with teddy bear

Jens sleeping figurine no. 681 from Royal Copenhagen captures a calm and recognizable moment from childhood. The little boy lies relaxed on a pillow with his teddy bear close to him, and the motif conveys security, closeness, and the quiet atmosphere that arises when the day is over. It is a porcelain figurine with a gentle and homely expression, which speaks directly to both collectors and those who appreciate classic Danish figural sculpture.

The figurine is part of the Jens series and is designed by Allan Therkelsen. It is clearly seen how finely the motif is modeled: the boy rests in his light nightwear, the pillow is kept in light blue shades, and the teddy bear lies safely beside him. The combination of the soft shapes and the calm posture gives the figurine a warm and poetic character. The underglaze supports the subdued play of colors and the calm overall impression.

As a Royal Copenhagen figurine, this model contains both decorative value and collector interest. The motif of the sleeping child makes it ideal in a collection of children's figurines, but it also works beautifully on its own on a shelf, in a display cabinet, or as part of a personal interior with porcelain and design classics. It fits particularly well into a home where one appreciates figurines with storytelling, nostalgia, and craftsmanship quality.

Older porcelain figurines like this have a special ability to bring history and personality into the interior. Choosing vintage porcelain is at the same time a beautiful way to give good craftsmanship new life. Jens sleeping is also a lovely gift idea for someone who collects Royal Copenhagen, children's figurines, or classic Danish porcelain art.
