1951 Bing & Grondahl Christmas plate, designed by Margrethe Hyldahl, titled Jens Bang ( New passenger boat running between Copenhagen and Aalborg) Bing & Grondahl's Christmas plate from 1951 depicts the motor ship Jens Bang, named after one of the most successful merchants in Ålborg, Jens Bang.Jens Bang owned many ships,and traded with Norway, the Baltic countries, Germany, France and Spain. In spite of his success, Jens Bang never became part of the city council, and it is said that his revenge was that when he built Stenhus, said to be the biggest and best preserved renaissance building in Scandinavia, he put grotesque carvings of his enemies on the front of the house.
