Bing & Grøndahl Victoria 1999 Teddy Bear of the Year figurine

Victoria 1999 from Bing & Grøndahl is a charming teddy bear figurine with a calm and friendly expression, which makes it easy to notice in the collection. The figurine shows Victoria standing with a small flower pot in her hands, dressed in a light dress with a yellow bow and a wide-brimmed yellow hat. This gives the figurine a cozy, almost spring-like character, where the motif exudes care, garden life, and quiet joy in the little things.

This porcelain figurine was created by Sheilah Beckett and belongs to the popular Victor and Victoria series from Bing & Grøndahl. The series is known and appreciated by collectors for its teddy bear figurines with personality, storytelling, and recognizable details. Victoria 1999 in particular was released as Teddy Bear of the Year, which makes it especially interesting for both collectors of Bing & Grøndahl figurines and for those seeking a specific year in the series.

The underglaze decoration gives the figurine the soft, harmonious color effect that suits the motif so well. The light shades combined with the warm yellow and terracotta-colored details create a fine balance, and the figurine works both on its own and together with other figurines from the Victor and Victoria family. If you already have a collection, this edition can be an obvious figurine to add to the row. Standing on its own, it still adds a friendly and personal touch to the home on a shelf, in a display cabinet, or in a smaller collector's arrangement.

Older porcelain figurines like this have a special ability to bring history and soul into the interior. Choosing an original Bing & Grøndahl figurine with collector's value is also a beautiful way to let classic design live on. Victoria 1999 is therefore a good choice for those who are fond of porcelain figurines, teddy bears, collectibles, and Danish design tradition with warmth and character.
