Bing & Grøndahl bulldog figurine no. 1605 Dahl-Jensen 17 cm

This bulldog figurine from Bing & Grøndahl has a distinct calmness and weight that immediately make it remarkable. It stands firmly on all four legs with its head raised, broad chest and the characteristic, powerful body shape that defines the breed. The expression is alert and dignified, and in the modelling of the head, muzzle and the slightly drooping cheeks, one clearly senses the respect for the animal's anatomy that makes classic porcelain figurines so sought after.

The figurine was modelled by Jens Peter Dahl-Jensen and bears the figurine number 1605. The white porcelain body is finished in a glossy underglaze, while the face, ears and eyes are highlighted with soft shades that bring life to the bulldog's gaze. The pictures also show the finely defined paws, the slender tail and the tense, muscular posture that gives the figurine presence from every angle. It is a dog figurine that appears both naturalistic and decorative.

Bing & Grøndahl is known for porcelain with a strong sense of form, and this bulldog figurine is a good example of exactly that. As a porcelain figurine, it fits beautifully in a display cabinet, on a shelf or as part of a collection of animal figurines and Danish porcelain. It can also stand alone as a characterful feature in the interior, where it adds personality and classic design history to the home.

For collectors of Bing & Grøndahl, for dog lovers and for everyone with an eye for older porcelain figurines, this is a model with both weight and expression. The large size emphasizes the figurine's presence and makes it ideal as a gift idea or as a special collector's item with lasting appeal.
