Bing & Grøndahl boy seated on slab figurine no. 1649

This Bing & Grøndahl figurine no. 1649 depicts a boy seated on a rectangular slab in a calm and intimate motif. The figurine has a simple, classic expression, where the seated posture and the slightly downward gaze give the porcelain figurine a quiet mood. It is precisely the type of child figurine that looks beautiful in the decor while also appealing to collectors of Danish porcelain and older Bing & Grøndahl figurines.

The motif is finely balanced with the boy placed low and naturally on the smooth slab. The soft shapes and the light glaze emphasize the figurine's calm character, while the simple composition makes it easy to place on a shelf, in a display cabinet, or as part of a collection of child figurines from Bing & Grøndahl. Here you get a porcelain figurine where motif and form work together in a subdued, harmonious expression.

Bing & Grøndahl is known for figurines that capture everyday life, childhood, and human moments with a great sense of form. This figurine is made of porcelain with underglaze, which contributes to the classic expression that many collectors and interior enthusiasts appreciate. It fits well in both traditional homes and more modern interiors, where older porcelain adds warmth, history, and personality.

A figurine like this is also an obvious choice for those who appreciate vintage porcelain and the joy of preserving quality objects created to last a long time. Older porcelain figurines give the home soul and are at the same time a sustainable alternative to new production. It can stand alone as a poetic feature or be combined with other human figurines, child figurines, or classic Danish porcelain.
