Bing & Grøndahl reclining Collie figurine no. 1663

Bing & Grøndahl figurine no. 1663 depicts a reclining Collie in a calm and attentive posture. The figurine has a natural, lifelike expression, where the dog's upright head, soft fur lines and alert gaze give the motif presence. The warm brownish shades combined with the white chest marking and light paws emphasize the breed's character and make the figurine decorative from all angles.

This dog figurine is made after a model by Jens Peter Dahl Jensen, who is known for his animal figurines with great understanding of anatomy and movement. Here the Collie is rendered with a fine balance between naturalism and the soft, stylized design language that makes classic porcelain figurines from Bing & Grøndahl so sought after. The glossy underglaze highlights the figurine's shapes and gives the surface depth and sheen.

As a porcelain figurine, it fits beautifully in a collection of Bing & Grøndahl animal figurines, but it also works beautifully on its own on a shelf, in a display cabinet or as a personal detail in the home interior. For dog lovers, collectors and those who appreciate Danish porcelain with history, a Collie figurine like this is an obvious choice. Older figurines with character and craftsmanship quality bring both soul and personality into the home and are at the same time a sustainable alternative to new production.

The motif also makes it suitable as a gift for a dog friend, for the collector of porcelain figurines or for the one who appreciates classic Danish design. The reclining position gives the figurine a calm expression, while the turn of the head adds life and attentiveness, so that it is experienced differently depending on placement and light.
