Bing & Grøndahl Pekingese figure no. 2114 Sveistrup Madsen

This Bing & Grøndahl dog figure no. 2114 depicts a standing Pekingese with a calm, dignified expression and a characteristic, long coat that falls softly around the body, chest and tail. The figure is modelled with an eye for the breed's distinctive silhouette: the low, compact form, the drooping ears, the short face and the full tail, which give the figure both weight and life.

The colour scheme in brown and white shades emphasises the model's soft shapes and makes the porcelain figure decorative from every angle. The face in particular and the folds of the coat are finely highlighted, giving the figure a vivid and lifelike character. It is precisely the type of classic Bing & Grøndahl figure that many collectors appreciate for its combination of animal study, Danish design tradition and good craftsmanship.

The figure is designed by Sveistrup Madsen and made in porcelain with underglaze, which gives the surface depth and a beautiful, glossy finish. It is well suited as part of a collection of Bing & Grøndahl animal figures, but also stands strongly on its own in the interior on a shelf, in a display cabinet or on a small side table, where it can add warmth and personality.

Older porcelain figures like this have a special appeal because they are created to be preserved and appreciated for many years. They bring history, character and craftsmanship into the home and are at the same time an obvious choice for you who would like to decorate with things that have already proven their durability. A figure like this is also an obvious gift idea for the dog lover, the collector or the person who appreciates classic Danish porcelain.
