Royal Copenhagen Pekingese reclining dog figurine 1453-422 53 cm

This large Royal Copenhagen dog figurine depicts a reclining Pekingese with the characteristic flat face, the long fur, and the calm, dignified appearance for which the breed is known. The figurine is made of porcelain and modeled so that the dog's low, elongated body and silky softly falling fur achieve a vivid and lifelike expression. The warm brown areas against the white glaze give the figurine depth and highlight the movement of the fur in a fine and convincing way.

The motif has a special calmness about it. The Pekingese lies stretched out with its front paws forward and its head raised, as if it is attentively following what is happening in the room around it. This makes the figurine decorative from several angles and ideal as an eye-catcher on a sideboard, in a bookcase, or as part of a collection of Royal Copenhagen animal figurines. The long tail and the soft lines also make the model unusually elegant in silhouette.

The figurine is designed by Niels Nielsen and belongs to the classic tradition of Danish porcelain figurines, where animal motifs were created with great understanding of both anatomy and personality. Here, one gets not merely a dog figurine in porcelain, but a piece of Danish design history with character and presence. Older porcelain figurines like this have a special charm because they bring history, craftsmanship, and personality into the home and at the same time are a beautiful choice for those who appreciate quality created to last for generations.

It is also an ideal gift idea for the dog lover, the Royal Copenhagen collector, or the one who loves classic Danish porcelain with soul. Note that the specific figurine has some brown spots, which is also evident from the original product text.
