Bing & Grøndahl cow figurine no. 2161 or 446 Lauritz Jensen 25 cm

Bing & Grøndahl cow figurine no. 2161/446 is a characterful porcelain figurine with lots of life and movement. The cow is modelled at the moment when it turns its head back and licks its side, and precisely that twist gives the figurine a lively, almost narrative expression. The soft shapes, the glossy glaze, and the fine underglaze decorations in white and grey-brown shades highlight the animal's powerful body and calm heaviness in a very convincing way.

The figurine is designed by Lauritz Jensen for Bing & Grøndahl and belongs to the classical tradition of Danish animal figurines in porcelain. Here the focus is on natural anatomy and a motif from everyday life, but interpreted with the calm and precision that make B&G figurines sought after among collectors. Horns, tail, leg position, and the twisted neck are executed with great assurance, and the figurine stands beautifully both alone and together with other animal figurines or classic Danish porcelain.

As a vintage porcelain figurine, this cow also contains the special charm that comes with older quality design. It is a decorative figurine that adds warmth, history, and personality to the interior, whether it is placed in a bookcase, a display cabinet, or on a side table. For collectors of Bing & Grøndahl, Danish porcelain figurines, and animal figurines, this is a model that stands out with its dynamic motif and its strong formal language.

It is also a fine gift idea for someone who appreciates rural motifs, classic Danish design, and porcelain with soul. A figurine like this is created to be appreciated for many years and is a beautiful example of how older craftsmanship can still find a natural place in a modern home.
