Royal Copenhagen lion cub figurine 2596 by Knud Kyhn

Royal Copenhagen lion cub figurine 2596 by Knud Kyhn is a porcelain figurine with a lively and warm expression. The small lion cub lies curled up on its back with its paws gathered close to its head and its tail softly bent around the body. The form gives the figurine a natural movement and a calm, playful character, making it an obvious choice for collectors of Royal Copenhagen figurines and classic Danish animal sculpture.

Knud Kyhn is known for his animal figurines, in which he manages to unite simplicity with personality, and this is clearly felt here. The lion cub is modelled with soft lines and rounded shapes, which emphasize the motif's youthful and unforced expression. The glaze appears in calm shades of beige and brown, which suit the motif and underline the figurine's organic wholeness. It is a porcelain figurine that appears harmonious from every angle and at the same time has enough character to attract attention in a bookcase, display cabinet or on a side table.

This Royal Copenhagen figurine fits beautifully into an interior with a focus on Danish design, classic porcelain and objects with history. As an older design, it carries that special quality which makes it meaningful to preserve and use craftsmanship created to last through generations. Precisely for that reason, it is also a fine gift idea for the collector, for the design enthusiast or for anyone who would like to add a piece of decorative art with soul to the home.

Lion cub figurine no. 2596 is a good example of why Knud Kyhn's animal figurines continue to be sought after. It combines artistic confidence, narrative form and Royal Copenhagen's well-known porcelain tradition in one figurine that can both stand alone and be included in a larger collection of animal figurines.
