Royal Copenhagen Faun with lion cub figurine no. 2852

Royal Copenhagen figurine no. 2852 shows a faun with a lion cub in a motif that combines play, strength and closeness in one and the same composition. The figurine is modelled with a lively movement, where the faun winds his arm around the lion cub, while the animal opens its mouth in an expressive roar or yawn. This gives the porcelain figurine a rare energy and a narrative expression that immediately catches the eye.

Knud Kyhn has created a figurine with both warmth and character. The soft shapes and the rounded lines give the motif calm, while the interplay between the child figure and the lion cub adds dynamism and personality. The glaze appears in light shades with tones of cream, grey and muted beige, which emphasise the figurine's organic form and make it easy to place in the home together with other classic porcelain and Danish design.

As a Royal Copenhagen figurine, this faun with lion cub has the special appeal that many collectors seek: a distinct modeller's touch, an imaginative motif and the assured balance between nature, narrative and craftsmanship. Knud Kyhn is known for his animal and nature motifs, and here the same sense of life and movement is felt in a more mythical and decorative interpretation. This makes the figurine ideal both as a collector's item and as a personal feature in the décor.

Older porcelain figurines like this one have a special ability to add soul to the home. They are created to last, to be appreciated for many years and to find new life in new surroundings. A vintage Royal Copenhagen figurine is therefore not only a beautiful choice, but also a way to preserve fine craftsmanship and classic Danish design.

The figurine fits beautifully in a display cabinet collection, on a shelf or as a striking detail on a side table, where its expressive motif can really come into its own.
