Hackefors Christmas plate / Christmas dinner plate "JULEN" with horse-drawn sleigh, 1991

Hackefors Christmas plate from 1991 is an atmospheric Swedish Christmas dinner plate in blue and white, where the winter landscape unfolds with snow-covered fir trees, moonlight, and a horse-drawn sleigh making its way through the snow. In the background, a church and a calm winter landscape can be seen, which give the motif depth and tell a classic Nordic Christmas story. At the top of the plate stands the original text "JULEN", and at the bottom the year 1991 can be seen.

The motif is designed by Ragnar Carlsson, who is behind Hackefors Christmas plates from this period. Here he has created a scene with both movement and calm: the horses pull the sleigh forward through the snow-covered terrain, while the clear night sky and the tall fir trees create an almost fairy-tale Christmas atmosphere. The blue decoration is executed in genuine cobalt, as is known from the Hackefors Christmas plates from 1969 to 1999.

As this Hackefors Christmas plate is purely blue-white without gold decoration, it can also be used as a Christmas dinner plate for food. With a diameter of 20 cm, it is a nice size as a lunch or dessert plate, and it is dishwasher safe. This makes it ideal for you if you would like to actively use Swedish porcelain with a Christmas motif in December instead of only hanging it on the wall. Several different year editions can also be beautifully combined on the Christmas table.

The plate is at the same time part of the popular series of Hackefors Christmas plates, which were issued in limited quantities. This gives it extra interest for collectors of Swedish porcelain, cobalt blue porcelain, and older Christmas plates with history. Hackefors is known for Swedish porcelain tradition and good quality, and this year edition nicely shows how useful porcelain and the joy of collecting can go hand in hand.

Our example comes from a purchased residual stock and is therefore unused, even though it is an older original from 1991. This makes it an obvious choice if you are fond of vintage porcelain with soul, but would like to have it in fine, unused condition.
