Hackefors Christmas plate / Christmas plate "Christmas" Lucia motif, 1988

Hackefors Christmas plate from 1988 is an atmospheric blue-and-white Christmas plate with the Danish text "Julen" on the front. The motif leads the thoughts directly to the Nordic December tradition with Lucia procession, lights and anticipation, and makes this year a fine combination of Swedish porcelain, Christmas storytelling and collector interest.

On the plate, a smiling Lucia bride is seen at the front with a wreath of lights and a candle in her hand, while two children stand behind, one of them with a star in hand. The scene takes place indoors in front of a window, where the night sky and stars can be glimpsed outside. The curtains frame the motif beautifully and emphasize the intimate, solemn atmosphere that many associate with the lights of Christmas in the dark season. On the plate stands the Danish word "Julen".

The 1988 edition is designed by Ragnar Carlsson, who is behind Hackefors Christmas plates in the period 1977-1999. The blue decoration is executed in genuine cobalt, and like the other Hackefors Christmas plates from this period it was issued in a limited quantity. This gives the plate an extra dimension for both collectors of Hackefors Christmas plates and for you who simply love classic Swedish porcelain with history.

As this Hackefors Christmas plate is kept in blue and white without gold decoration, it can also be used as a Christmas plate for food. With a diameter of 20 cm, it has a practical size as, for example, a cake plate or for smaller servings at Christmastime. It is also dishwasher safe, so it does not only need to be for decoration, but can also become part of the table setting year after year.

The plate comes from our acquired remaining stock and is therefore unused, even though it was produced in 1988. That makes it an obvious choice for you who would like to find older original porcelain in fine, unused condition. As a wall plate, it also has its advantages, as the year has two holes on the back for hanging.
