Hackefors Christmas plate / Christmas dinner plate "Christmas" with winter cottage, 1993

Hackefors Christmas plate from 1993 is an atmospheric blue-and-white Christmas dinner plate with the original text "Christmas" on the front. The motif shows a snow-covered cottage in a peaceful winter landscape, surrounded by fir trees, hills and a glowing winter sky. In the foreground, a squirrel can be seen by the winding path, and that very little detail gives the motif extra life and story.

It is a Hackefors Christmas plate that conveys the quiet side of Christmas: snow, forest, light and homely warmth. The blue decoration stands beautifully against the white base and gives the classic expression that many collectors and Christmas lovers are fond of. On the plate is the Danish word "Julen", and the year 1993 is an important part of the design.

The year's motif is designed by Ragnar Carlsson, who is behind the Hackefors Christmas plates in this period. Like the other Hackefors Christmas plates from 1969-1999, this vintage is made in genuine cobalt, and it was issued in a limited quantity. That makes it interesting both as a Swedish Christmas plate, as part of a collection and as a piece of porcelain with history.

As this Hackefors Christmas dinner plate is purely blue-and-white without gold decoration, it may be used for food. With a diameter of 20 cm, it has a practical size as, for example, a cake plate or lunch plate, and it is also dishwasher safe. Our example comes from an acquired remaining stock and is therefore unused, even though it is an older original from 1993.
