Hackefors Christmas plate from 1990 is a blue-and-white Christmas dinner plate with the original text "JULEN" on the front and a cozy winter motif that exudes Nordic childhood Christmas. In the middle of the scene stands a snowman, while two children are absorbed in playing around it, and in the background an adult figure can be seen in the snow by the picket fence. The blue decoration is executed in genuine cobalt, which Hackefors used on its Christmas plates from this period. It gives the motif depth and a clear, lively expression in the cobalt blue shades on a white background. On the plate stands the Danish word "JULEN", and together with the year 1990 it makes this vintage easy to recognize for both collectors and those who are fond of Swedish porcelain with a Christmas motif.

The motif of the year is designed by Ragnar Carlsson, who is behind Hackefors Christmas plates from 1977 to 1999. This vintage was, like the other plates from the period, issued in a limited quantity. That makes it interesting as a collector's plate, but it also has a practical side: Since it is purely blue-and-white without gold decoration, it may be used for food and is dishwasher safe. With a diameter of 20 cm, it works well as, for example, a cake plate or lunch plate in December, but it can also be used all year round as a charming part of the table setting.
