Hackefors Christmas Plate / Christmas Plate "JULEN" with birds, 1978

Hackefors Christmas plate from 1978 is an atmospheric blue-and-white Christmas plate, where the calm of winter is allowed to fill the entire motif. On the plate stands the Swedish text "JULEN", and in the middle two birds are seen on a branch in front of a snow-covered landscape with houses, bare trees and open expanses in the background. It is a motif that captures the quiet side of Christmas - nature, the cold and the calm light over the winter landscape.

The year's motif is designed by Ragnar Carlsson, who is behind Hackefors Christmas plates from the period 1977-1999. Here he has created a fine winter scene, where the birds in the foreground give life and presence, while the small houses and the soft hills in the background emphasize the feeling of Nordic Christmas. The blue decoration is executed in genuine cobalt, and like the other Hackefors Christmas plates from this period, the vintage was released in a limited number.

The plate is kept in classic blue and white without gold decoration. This means that it is not only a Hackefors Christmas plate for collectors, but also a usable Hackefors Christmas plate. With a diameter of 20 cm it is suitable as a lunch plate or cake plate in December, and as it may both be used for food and is dishwasher safe, it is easy to put into use during a busy Christmas season. Our example comes from a purchased remainder stock and is therefore unused, even though it is an older original from 1978.
