Hackefors Christmas plate / Christmas plate "Christmas" with roe deer, 1977

Hackefors Christmas plate from 1977 is an atmospheric Swedish Christmas plate in classic blue-white porcelain decoration. On the front is the Danish word "JULEN", and the motif shows two roe deer in a quiet winter landscape, where the snow lies heavy on the fir tree, while a village with a church can be seen in the background. It is a scene that gathers much of the Nordic Christmas atmosphere in one image: calm, cold, nature and light in the distance.

The fine winter motif is done in cobalt blue shades on a white ground, and it is precisely this simple blue-white colour scheme that gives the plate the expression that many collectors and Christmas enthusiasts appreciate about Hackefors Christmas plates. The bare tree branches in the foreground create depth in the motif, while the roe deer add life and movement. At the same time, the church and the small houses in the background provide a story of Christmas in the Nordic winter landscape.

The 1977 edition was designed by Ragnar Carlsson, who is behind the Hackefors Christmas plates in this period. Like the other Hackefors Christmas plates from 1977-1999, this one is made in genuine cobalt, and it was issued in a limited quantity. This makes it interesting both as a collector's plate and as a piece of Swedish porcelain history with character and tradition.
