Hackefors Christmas plate from 1973 is an atmospheric Swedish Christmas plate in blue and white porcelain decoration with the clear text "CHRISTMAS" on the front. The motif brings to mind the biblical Christmas story and shows a standing figure with a staff under a palm tree, while a large star shines in the night sky. At the bottom, animals can be seen in the foreground, and the whole scene is rendered in the calm, cobalt blue expression that characterizes the classic Hackefors Christmas plates.

The year's motif is designed by Y. Norberg, Yngve Norberg, who is behind the Hackefors annual editions from this period. The simple composition and the strong contrast between the dark sky and the light figures give the plate a distinctive expression, where the Christmas story, symbolism and Swedish porcelain tradition merge into a higher unity. On the plate appears the Danish word "JULEN".

Like the Hackefors Christmas plates from 1969-1999, this edition is made in genuine cobalt, and it was issued in a limited number.
