Hackefors Christmas Plate / Christmas Plate "Merry Christmas" 1971

The Hackefors Christmas plate from 1971 is an atmospheric Swedish Christmas plate in blue and white porcelain decoration, where the winter darkness is broken by a strongly shining star above the snow-covered landscape. On the plate stands the Swedish Christmas greeting "God Jul", and the year 1971 is written at the bottom on the front. The motif conveys the calm, solemn side of Christmas with snow, silence and light in the winter landscape.

In the motif, a small house with a snow-covered roof, a smoking chimney, rolling hills, a slender tree and a fence can be seen, leading the eye into the scene. The bright star above the house gives the image an almost narrative character and creates a classic Nordic Christmas atmosphere. It is precisely this simple, powerful visual storytelling that makes many Hackefors Christmas plates so sought-after year after year.

This vintage is designed by Y. Norberg, Yngve Norberg, who is behind the Hackefors Christmas plates from the series' first period. Like the other Hackefors Christmas plates from 1969-1999, the decoration is made in genuine cobalt, and this vintage was issued in a limited number. The plate is kept in a pure blue-white decoration without a gold rim, and therefore it is not only decorative, but also practical. With a diameter of 20 cm, it works well as a Christmas plate for smaller meals, cake or lunch, and it is dishwasher safe.
