1902 Bing & Grondahl Christmas plate, designed by Dahl Jensen, has as its motif interior of a Gothic church. Bing & Grondahl Christmas plate from 1902 depicts an interior of a gothic church. In the middle we see the cross, and around that, candles are lit, expresseing a peaceful atmosphere. Christianity came to Denmark with Ansgar in 827, but not until King Harald Bluetooth was babtized in 960 christianity got a stron hold in Denmark. Up to the Reformation Denmark was a catholic country, and after 1536 it became Lutheranian. This church is now national church. Today almost all other religions are represented in Denmark.
