Bing & Grøndahl bulldog dog figurine no. 1676 Dahl-Jensen

Bing & Grøndahl bulldog dog figurine no. 1676 is a distinctive porcelain figurine with lots of character. The small bulldog stands firmly and alert with an upright body, raised head and the characteristic, slightly stubborn expression that makes the breed so easily recognizable. The figurine is made of porcelain with underglaze and appears with a white body, gray-toned shades in the head and a brown collar, which gives the motif extra life.

Jens Peter Dahl-Jensen was known for his animal figurines, and here his sense of both anatomy and personality is clearly seen. The bulldog's broad chest, powerful legs, short tail and distinctive folds around the head and muzzle are modeled with a sure hand. The result is a dog figurine that appears both true to life and decorative, and which has the calm and weight one associates with classic porcelain figurines from Bing & Grøndahl.

For collectors of Danish porcelain, model number 1676 is an important detail, because it makes the figurine easy to identify. At the same time, the motif makes it ideal for anyone who loves dog figurines, bulldogs or older decorative art with soul. A figurine like this adds personality to a display cabinet, shelf or desk and fits well into both classic and more modern interiors.

Older porcelain figurines often have a special presence, because they are created with an eye for durability, craftsmanship and form. Choosing a vintage dog figurine like this is also a way to give beautiful Danish design new life. It can be a meaningful gift for the dog lover, for the collector of Bing & Grøndahl or for the one who appreciates porcelain figurines with history and character.
