Bing & Grøndahl figurine no. 2278 Throw the ball down children

Bing & Grøndahl figurine no. 2278, "Throw the ball down", captures a lively moment between two children standing close together and looking up. The motif radiates play, movement, and that very special atmosphere of childhood, where a single moment can tell a whole story. The figurine shows a girl in a blue dress with her arm raised and a boy by her side, both with their gaze turned upward, as if they are following a ball in the air or eagerly waiting for the next throw.

Michaela Ahlmann has created a child figurine with a natural and present expression. The composition is whimsically balanced, so the figurine appears lively from several angles. The close placement between the children and their upturned faces gives the porcelain figurine a warm story of togetherness, play, and effortless joy. The soft shapes and the calm underglaze emphasize Bing & Grøndahl's sure sense of figurative art and classic Danish porcelain design.

As a porcelain figurine, it fits beautifully in a collection of B&G figurines, child figurines, or Danish design porcelain. It is also ideal as a gift for the collector or for someone who loves figurines with human warmth and historical charm. Older porcelain figurines like this bring personality into the home and are at the same time a sustainable choice, because fine craftsmanship is allowed to live on and be appreciated in new surroundings.

This Bing & Grøndahl figurine works well on its own on a shelf, in a display cabinet, or as part of a larger arrangement with other human figures and classic porcelain figurines. The motif is easy to love because it is both simple and narrative, and because it shows everyday life in a form that still feels alive today.
