Johgus Bornholm ceramics dog no. 579 green dog figurine

Johgus Bornholm dog no. 579 is a charming ceramic figurine with a calm and present expression. The sitting dog is shaped with soft lines, long hanging ears, distinct paws and a round, prominent snout, which gives the figurine personality and warmth. The green glaze plays beautifully across the surface and highlights the figurine's shapes in a lively and natural way.

This dog figurine is a fine example of Bornholm ceramics, where the simple motif gains character through shape and glaze. It is exactly the type of figurine that adds a personal touch to the home, whether it is placed on a shelf, on a chest of drawers, in a windowsill or as part of a collection of Danish ceramics and animal figurines. For many, it will also have appeal as a collector's item, not least because model number 579 makes it easier to identify.

The figurine fits well into an interior where one appreciates decorative art and design with history, soul and a handmade expression. The green glaze makes it easy to combine with both wood, stoneware, porcelain and other natural tones in the home. At the same time, it is an obvious gift for the dog lover, the ceramic collector or the person who appreciates Danish design from Bornholm.

Choosing older ceramics and design is also a way to bring quality and character forward into today's homes. A figurine like this carries both a sense of form and a story and shows how good craftsmanship can continue to create joy many years after it was made.
