Johgus Bornholm duck figurine no. 119 in glazed ceramic

This duck figurine from Johgus Bornholm has a calm and almost thoughtful expression, which makes it easy to notice in the interior. The figurine is made as a stylized duck with its head bent toward the body, giving the motif a soft and unified silhouette. The dark glaze with green-brown nuances and light, lively variations in the surface gives the figurine depth and emphasizes the Bornholm ceramic expression that many collectors and ceramic enthusiasts are fond of.

Johgus Bornholm is known for ceramics with character, and this figurine no. 119 is a fine example of how a simple animal motif can gain plenty of personality through form and glaze. The rounded body, the pronounced wings, and the solid base give the figurine a calm, almost sculptural character. This makes it suitable both as a bird figurine in a collection and as a decorative ceramic figurine in the home, where it can stand on a shelf, in a windowsill, or as part of a display with other Danish handicrafts.

A vintage ceramic figurine like this adds warmth, history, and soul to the home. It fits well into both classic, Nordic, and more personal interiors and is at the same time a sustainable choice for those who appreciate older quality objects with a long lifespan. The duck figurine is also ideal as a gift for a collector of Johgus, Bornholm ceramics, or animal figurines who would like to find something with more character than new mass production.

It is precisely the combination of the simple motif, the tactile glaze, and the calm design language that makes this Johgus duck figurine a charming find. A figurine that can both stand alone and interact beautifully with other ceramic bird figurines, stoneware, and smaller art objects.
