Johgus Bornholm duck figurine no. 118 in ceramics

Johgus Bornholm duck figurine no. 118 is a characterful ceramic figurine with a calm and lifelike expression. The standing duck is modelled with a long neck, a slightly forward-bent head and a firm, compact body, which gives the figure a fine balance between simple form and a recognisable bird motif. The glaze appears in dark brown-green shades with a lively, mottled play that emphasises the figure's organic surface and gives it warmth and depth.

The figure fits well into an interior where one would like to add a little Bornholm ceramics, Nordic atmosphere and personal character. The decorative duck stands securely on its integrated base and works beautifully alone on a shelf, in a bookcase or as part of a collection with other animal figurines and ceramic finds. The motif also makes it ideal as a gift for collectors of bird figurines, ceramics from Bornholm or older Danish design with history.

Johgus is known for Bornholm ceramics, and precisely animal figurines like this have a timeless appeal because they unite applied art, craftsmanship and storytelling in one object. A figurine like this brings nature into the home in a quiet and down-to-earth way. At the same time, it is a good example of how older ceramics can still have a natural place in modern interiors, where materials with patina, form and soul are allowed to stand out.

The dark, lively glaze and the simple modelling make this Johgus duck easy to combine with both wood, stone, glass and other ceramic objects. Whether it is placed as a single eye-catcher or forms part of a larger collection, it adds a calm atmosphere and a touch of classic Bornholm ceramic tradition to the home.
