Royal Copenhagen German Shepherd figurine no. 3261 by Theodor Madsen

Royal Copenhagen German Shepherd figurine no. 3261 by Theodor Madsen is a classic dog figurine in porcelain with a motif that radiates both strength, calm and alertness. The German Shepherd stands upright and attentive with erect ears, a slightly open mouth and the tail carried calmly backward. The proud posture gives the figurine a lifelike and full-of-character expression, which makes it particularly appealing to both dog lovers and collectors of Royal Copenhagen figurines.

Theodor Madsen is known for his animal figurines, and in this porcelain figurine his sure eye for anatomy and movement is evident. The body is modelled with slender, supple lines, and the dog's posture highlights the breed's well-known combination of intelligence, responsiveness and physical strength. The glossy glaze and the fine underglaze decoration support the figurine's calm play of colours, where darker shades over the back and sides meet lighter areas on the chest, legs and muzzle.

As an older Royal Copenhagen dog figurine, this German Shepherd also contains the special quality that makes vintage porcelain so sought-after. Here you get not only a decorative figurine, but also a piece of Danish design history, created to last and to be appreciated for many years to come. It is precisely the type of decorative art and collector's item that brings personality into the home and at the same time is a sustainable alternative to new production.

The figurine fits beautifully in a display cabinet, on a shelf or on a desk, where its upright silhouette is allowed to stand out. It can stand alone as a striking motif or be included together with other animal figurines in porcelain. As a gift, it is ideal for someone who loves German Shepherds, classic dog figurines or Royal Copenhagen porcelain with history and soul.
