Bing & Grøndahl cat figurine B4201 pair of cats 17 cm

Bing & Grøndahl figurine B4201 is a characterful cat figurine in porcelain, designed by Agnethe Jørgensen. The motif shows two cats gathered in one sculptural composition, where they sit close back to back and turn their heads to each side. This gives the figurine a calm, almost thoughtful expression, which fits beautifully into both classic and more modern homes.

The first thing one notices is the simple, soft lines and the stylised form. The white porcelain body stands clean and calm, while the blue tails create a fine contrast and emphasise the figurine's graphic expression. The blue version has a particularly light and Nordic character, and the underglaze technique gives the decoration depth and durability. Here it is not small details, but form, balance and silhouette that carry the entire story.

Agnethe Jørgensen is known for figurines in which animals are given a simplified and lively expression, and this is clearly seen here. The cats appear both calm and attentive, as if they are each following a movement in the room. This makes the figurine decorative from several angles and suitable on a shelf, a sideboard, a side table or in a display cabinet, where it can stand alone or together with other porcelain figurines and Danish design.

For those of you who are fond of cat figurines, Bing & Grøndahl porcelain and Danish design with history, this is a figurine with both personality and collector appeal. Older porcelain figurines like this one bring something special into the décor: quality, design awareness and the joy of choosing a piece of design that has already proven its durability over time. It is also an obvious gift idea for the cat lover or collector who appreciates figurative art in porcelain.
