Johgus Bornholm Bear no. 11 ceramic figurine 12 cm

Johgus Bornholm Bear no. 11 is a striking ceramic figurine with a calm, earthy expression. The bear is modelled standing on all fours with a slightly outstretched head and a heavy, rounded body, giving the figure a strong and natural presence. The form is simple and assured, and it is precisely this subdued formal language that suits the motif well.

The surface has a dark glaze with light, lively variations, which give the figure character and depth. The mottled shades emphasise the bear's organic form and add an almost nature-inspired expression to the ceramic. It is an animal figurine that works well as an eye-catcher on its own, but also pairs beautifully with other ceramic figurines, Bornholm ceramics and Nordic decorative arts.

Johgus Bornholm is a name many associate with characterful ceramics, and this bear figurine is a fine example of how nature and craftsmanship meet in a decorative figure with clear personality. The bear motif has a special weight in the interior and adds warmth and texture to the shelf, windowsill or sideboard. With its size of 12 cm, the figure is easy to place, both in a smaller arrangement and as part of a larger collection.

Older ceramic figurines like this have a quality and durability that make them worth taking along into new homes. It is a beautiful way to choose recycling and good craftsmanship over new mass production. A figure like this brings history, soul and personality into the interior and can also be an obvious gift for collectors or for someone who loves animals, ceramics and design from Bornholm.
