Johgus Bornholm reclining deer fallow deer figurine no. 565

This reclining deer from Johgus Bornholm has a calm and almost meditative expression, which makes it an atmospheric animal figurine in ceramics. The figurine is shaped with soft, rounded lines and a low, resting posture, which gives the motif a natural calm. The bowed head, the long ears and the folded body create a fine balance between the simple and the lifelike, so the figurine has presence without seeming heavy.

The colour expression appears dark with light areas on the surface, which give the figurine depth and character. The organic form fits well into both modern and more classic homes, where ceramics with an animal motif add warmth and personality. As a deer figurine or fallow deer figurine, it works well alone on a shelf, in a bookcase or on a side table, but it can also be combined with other ceramic figurines and decorative art from Bornholm for a more cohesive expression.

Johgus Bornholm is known for ceramics with a distinctive formal language, and this figurine no. 565 is a good example of exactly that. Here, the focus is not on many details, but on silhouette, posture and atmosphere. This makes the figurine ideal for collectors of Danish ceramics, Bornholm handicrafts and vintage animal figurines. At the same time, it is a decorative gift idea for anyone who appreciates nature motifs, Nordic interior design and objects with history.

Older ceramics like this have a special ability to add soul to the home. When you choose a figurine with history, you get not just decoration, but also a piece of design that was created to be preserved and used for many years. It is a beautiful way to bring both sustainability and personal style into the interior.
