1933 Bing & Grondahl Christmas plate, designed by H Flügering, has the title The Korsor - Nyborg Ferry. Bing & Grondahl's Christmas plate from 1933 depicts the ferry Zealand that sailed from Korsør on Zealand to Nyborg on Funen, crossing the Great Belt. Denmark is a country of many islands, and in order to carry goods and people from one place to another ferries have been essential means of transportation. Many ferries are still in use, but the ferries crossing the Great Belt were discontinued in 1998 when the bridge over the belt was taken into use. The last of these ferries sailed into the dock on June 15th 1998 at one o'clock at night.
