Royal Copenhagen Santa of the Year 2005 Santa on rocking horse green

Royal Copenhagen Santa of the Year 2005 with the motif Santa on rocking horse, green, is a charming Christmas figurine with lots of storytelling gathered in a small format. Here one sees Santa in a green outfit with white fur trim, a Christmas tree over his shoulder and a rocking horse in front of him, where a teddy bear is along for the ride. The motif exudes classic Christmas atmosphere, joy of toys and the warm, nostalgic story that many collectors associate with Royal Copenhagen's Christmas figurines.

The figurine is designed by Sven Vestergaard and made of porcelain with underglaze. The green Santa outfit, the light rocking horse and the blue rocker base create a fine colour contrast that makes the figurine lively in both Christmas displays, display cabinets and collections. It works beautifully on its own, but is also ideal as part of a larger display with other Christmas figurines, elves and classic Christmas porcelain.

Santa of the Year is a popular figurine series from Royal Copenhagen, which starts in 2001, and where each year a new Santa has been produced. From 2021 onwards, a Mrs. Santa has also been added to the collection. This is precisely why the figurines are sought after among collectors who wish to follow the series year by year, find a specific year or supplement an existing collection. The 2005 edition is a fine choice for those who collect Royal Copenhagen Santa of the Year, but it also has a motif that makes it decorative and atmospheric in itself.

Older Christmas figurines like this have a special ability to bring history and personality into the home. It is porcelain created to be brought out year after year, and which can gain new life in a contemporary interior. For many, it is precisely the joy of collecting, preserving and using classic Danish design that makes such figurines especially valuable.
