Royal Copenhagen Santa of the Year 2003 Santa reads wish list

Royal Copenhagen Santa of the Year 2003, "Santa reads wish list", captures that very special December atmosphere, where anticipation, reflection and Christmas joy meet in a single motif. The figure shows Santa absorbed in a long wish list, while he stands with his glasses placed high and lets his gaze wander down the paper. At his feet a teddy bear can be seen, and on the cloak a small toy is visible, which emphasizes the story of gifts, children and the classic Christmas night.

The motif is warm and recognizable, and Sven Vestergaard has given the figure a calm and narrative expression. The red cloak with white details, the long list and the small toy references make this Christmas figure lively and full of personality. It is precisely the kind of Royal Copenhagen Christmas figure that many enjoy bringing out year after year when the home is to be decorated for Christmas.

Santa of the Year is a named series, which started in 2001, and in which a new Santa has been produced every year. From 2021 onwards, a Mrs. Santa has also been added to the collection. The series is very popular, and there is great demand for these Royal Copenhagen Christmas figures, both among collectors and among those who want a fixed Christmas tradition with a new figure every year. The figure works beautifully on its own, but is also ideal as part of an existing collection or as the missing figure in the series.

As this is an older figure with history, it also contains some of the charm that makes vintage Christmas decorations and collectible figures so sought after. Choosing older porcelain figures is at the same time a way to give fine craftsmanship new life and let classic Danish design continue to create joy in a modern home. It fits nicely on a shelf, in a display cabinet, on the Christmas table or as a thoughtful gift for a collector of Royal Copenhagen figures and Christmas figures.
