Johgus Bornholm ceramic bear sitting no. 22 black

Johgus Bornholm ceramic bear sitting no. 22 is a striking animal figure with a calm, almost thoughtful expression. The figure depicts a sitting bear, modeled in a soft and organic form, where the body gathers compactly around the characteristic sitting position. The dark, glossy glaze gives the figure depth and lets the light play beautifully across the surface, so that the bear's head, legs, and back stand out clearly.

It is precisely the combination of motif and form that makes this Johgus bear special. The bear is rendered with a simplicity that suits ceramic figures well, and this creates an expression that appears both decorative and timeless. The black glaze adds weight and calm to the figure, while the rounded shapes make it warm and lively to look at. For collectors of Johgus ceramics and Bornholm ceramics, model no. 22 is a figure that fits naturally into a collection, but it also works strongly on its own as a decorative feature in the home.

A ceramic bear figure like this is ideal on a shelf, in a display cabinet, on a side table, or as part of an arrangement with other ceramic figures and Nordic decorative arts. The dark color makes it easy to combine with both light wood, glass, and other natural materials. At the same time, it is a figure that can be given as a gift to a collector or to someone who appreciates Danish ceramics with character and personality.

When choosing older ceramics and design with history, you do not just get a decorative object, but also a piece of craftsmanship that can still create joy in a contemporary home. It makes sense both aesthetically and as a more sustainable choice when beautiful quality objects are allowed to live on.
