Arabia Christmas plate 1982 with the motif Christmas Landscape gathers an entire winter story on one plate. The snow-covered landscape unfolds with skaters on the ice, children at play, a horse-drawn sleigh on the road, and small houses scattered among spruce trees and fences. In the background, a church can also be seen, giving the motif a calm, Nordic Christmas atmosphere and tying the village together as a natural gathering point.

It is precisely the details that make this Arabia Christmas plate special. On the ice there is life and movement, while the snow-covered bushes in the foreground create depth around the scene. To the right, children can be seen building in the snow next to a small snowman, and higher up in the landscape the sleigh glides through winter. The dark blue decoration against the light base gives the motif a classic Finnish expression, and the hand-painted gold decoration along the edge as well as the year 1982 at the bottom add a fine contrast to the robust stoneware.

This edition belongs to the early Arabia Christmas plates from the series, which began in 1978, and 1982 was certainly designed by Raija Uosikkinen. Arabia Finland is known for strong traditions in ceramics and applied art, and here the assured balance between narrative motif, function, and durable material is evident. The plate is made of stoneware (stoneware), which provides a strong and solid body that is suitable not only for hanging, but also for use on the table.

Our specimen comes from an old residual stock of older Arabia Christmas plates and is unused. This makes this stoneware plate a fine choice for those who appreciate older Nordic design, good craftsmanship, and the joy of putting quality objects with history into use.
