Arabia Christmas plate 2002 with the motif Snow Crystal is a striking and different Christmas plate, where the graphic formal language is allowed to play the leading role. At the center stands a stylized snow crystal in white against a deep blue background, and in the middle of the motif a small heart can be seen, giving the strict geometric composition warmth and Christmas atmosphere. It is a Finnish Christmas plate that unites winter, tradition and modern design in a way that makes this particular year easy to recognize.

Around the central motif runs a strong border in green, red, white and golden fields. The triangular shapes give the plate rhythm and energy, while the small twig motifs with red berries create a fine connection to the nature of Christmas and Nordic winter colors. At the bottom, the year 2002 is highlighted clearly, so this Arabia Christmas plate also functions as an atmospheric year plate and gift idea for a special occasion.

The design was created by Tove Slotte-Elevant, and the 2002 edition belongs to the later releases in the well-known series of Arabia Christmas plates, which began in 1978. Here, the expression is more decorative and graphic than narrative, and precisely for that reason Snow Crystal fits particularly well into both classic and more modern homes. The hand-painted gold decoration appears as a warm contrast in the fields of the border and emphasizes the plate's Christmas atmosphere without taking focus from the clear snow crystal motif.

The plate is made of stoneware (stoneware), which provides a robust and solid body. This means that it is not only suitable as wall decoration, but can also be used on the table, for example as a lunch plate in December, where the motif contributes Nordic winter atmosphere around the serving. As Arabia Christmas plates from 1980 onwards have holes on the back for hanging, this edition can both be hung up and used actively.

Our example comes from an old residual stock of older Arabia Christmas plates and is therefore unused. This makes this stoneware plate a fine choice for you who appreciate older design in well-preserved condition and would like to bring durable Finnish craftsmanship further into a contemporary home.
