The hand-painted gold rim and the year 1990 at the bottom add a fine glow to the plate, which emphasizes the Christmas theme without taking attention away from the scene itself.

This edition is designed by Tove Slotte, who was behind Arabia Christmas plates from 1990 to 2002. Here one encounters the narrative Finnish design language, where everyday moments and winter atmosphere go hand in hand. Arabia Finland is known for ceramics and applied art with a strong Nordic identity, and this particular Finnish Christmas plate has a motif that works both as a seasonal decoration and as an atmospheric part of the table setting.

The Christmas plate is made of stoneware, which provides a robust and solid body. With a diameter of 23 cm, it can be used as a lunch plate or for a smaller serving during the Christmas season, but it also looks beautiful on the wall, where the winter motif can come into its own throughout the season. From 1980 onwards, Arabia Christmas plates have holes on the back for hanging, so this edition can be used both practically and decoratively.

Our example comes from an old residual stock of Arabia Christmas plates and is unused. This gives the opportunity to choose an older stoneware plate with history and original character, which is still ready to create joy in a modern home. Many of the plates from this residual stock are still in their original Arabia boxes.
