1940 Bing & Grondahl Christmas plate, designed by Ove Larsen, bears the title Delivering Christmas Letters. Bing & Grondahl's Christmas plate from 1940 depicts the postman bringing out the Christmas letters. In Denmark it is tradition to send Christ- mas cards to friends and family , and in 1940, at the biginning of World War II, such tidings were even more important than they usually were.
