Royal Tettau Christmas plate 1974, winter landscape with church, 20 cm

A quiet winter landscape unfolds across this Royal Tettau Christmas plate from 1974. In the foreground, a winding stream or brook can be seen running through the snow past an old wooden house, while a church with illuminated windows emerges in the background. The dark tree trunks, the deep blue winter sky and the warm glimmers of light from the buildings create an atmospheric contrast, giving the motif both calm, depth and classic Christmas ambiance. At the bottom of the front appears the inscription "JULEN 1974" in gold-colored lettering.

The Christmas plate is manufactured by Royal Tettau, Germany, which made this series for the Scandinavian market. This is precisely part of what makes it interesting to collectors of Christmas plates, especially because it bears the Scandinavian text on the front. On the back, it is stated that the plate is produced in a limited number, and all plates in the series have a hanger glued to the back, so they are ready to be put up on the wall.

With a diameter of approx. 20 cm, it fits well into a collection of older Christmas plates, but it can also stand alone as part of the Christmas decorations in the home. It functions both as a decorative collector's plate and as a plate on the table, if you wish to use it in a table setting with history and personality. An older Christmas plate like this is at the same time a fine example of how good design and solid craftsmanship can gain new life year after year and continue to create joy at Christmastime.
