Royal Copenhagen Annual Santa 2009 Puppet Theatre

Royal Copenhagen Annual Santa 2009 shows Santa Claus in the middle of a small puppet theatre, where he lifts a teddy hand puppet, while the dog in front of him follows the performance with full attention. The figure is full of storytelling and Christmas joy, and the motif captures a warm moment from the many tasks of Christmas night with humor, presence, and playful charm.

The red Santa suit, the white beard, and the dog's expectant posture give the figure a lively expression, making it ideal as a Christmas figure, collectible figure, and classic Christmas decoration. The puppet theatre motif distinguishes the 2009 edition from the other figures in the series and makes it easily recognizable for collectors of Royal Copenhagen Christmas figures.

The figure is designed by Sven Vestergaard for Royal Copenhagen and executed in underglaze. The Annual Santa series began in 2001, and a new Santa has been released every year since. From 2021 onward, a Mrs. Santa has also been added to the collection, which has expanded the series further and made it even more interesting for collectors. Precisely for that reason, these Royal Copenhagen Christmas figures are very popular, and there is great demand for them year after year.

As an older figure, this edition also has the special quality that many appreciate in porcelain with history. It is a decorative figure that can both stand alone and create atmosphere, but which also fits beautifully together with other figures from the Annual Santa series. For collectors, the 2009 figure can be an important addition to an existing collection or an ideal beginning to a series that tells its own Christmas story through the years.

At DPH - Danish Porcelain House, it is precisely the type of figure one returns to: Danish design with personality, recognizable storytelling, and a Christmas tradition that can be brought out again and again.
