Arabia Christmas plate 1988 with the motif Panorama over Christmas town depicts an atmospheric winter town, where the snow lies heavily over roofs, trees and streets. On the hill, the church rises above the closely packed houses, while small golden stars shine in the dark blue sky. It is a motif that brings together many of Christmas's classic images in one calm and harmonious composition: home, light, winter and community.

In Panorama over Christmas town, the eye is led through the entire landscape. In the foreground, the buildings along the water or the open foreground are seen, higher up the town's houses lie close together with illuminated windows, and at the top the church gathers the motif as the town's natural focal point. The small figures in the street scene and the sleigh in the winter landscape give the scene life and tell of a town in quiet Christmas movement. The blue shades against the white snow are characteristic of Arabia Christmas plates and give this Finnish Christmas plate a calm, Nordic expression.

The 1988 edition belongs to the early releases in the series, which began in 1978, and it was certainly designed by Raija Uosikkinen. It is precisely in this period that the motifs are often rich in narrative details, and here the Christmas atmosphere is beautifully emphasized by the hand-painted gold decoration, which is seen in the border, the stars, the year and the warm lights in the windows.

The Christmas plate is made of stoneware, which gives a robust and solid body. This makes it not only suitable as wall decoration, but also as a plate on the Christmas table or for a wintry serving. With its diameter of 23 cm, it has a size that works well as a lunch plate, while the motif makes it decorative all year round.

This Arabia Christmas plate comes from an old remainder stock that we have purchased, and it is therefore unused. This makes it particularly interesting for those who love older design with history, but who would also like a well-preserved example. Many of the plates from this remainder stock are still in their original Arabia boxes.
